Body But Not About Position Position Mind
assess the beneficial
Consider someone who is sitting still doing nothing. From the outside we might see it so quiet, but what is churned in his mind may not be as calm as his seat "

About a month ago I bought a book called "Quiet Sitting:
The Daoist Approach For A Healthy Mind And Body "written by Chen and Jiang Weiqiao Yingning.
A book about meditation method called Jinggong (quite sitting) who has long studied and applied by practitioners from China.
The book is divided into three major sections in which the first discusses the concept of the book and followed by a question and answer session regarding the methods Jinggong which then ends with a tutorial on how the reader can explore this method alone.
Jinggong method stems from the concept of qigong as a basic idea, which comes from the word qi (energy) and gong (skill). The word qigong which implies the expertise to attract vital energy is seen by the Chinese as the concept of thinking that can provide balance to the body and mental.
Application qigong concept itself is divided into two major parts, namely a method of moving and stationary. Where the method move is designed to strengthen and cleanse the body as a container of qi. Well-formed containers is expected to help practitioners of qigong to calm the mind and blood circulation, so that the flow of qi in the body that are within the practitioner can flow smoothly.
While still in the concept of qigong method focuses on how a practitioner trained his mind. Because although the method of moving aid in forming a healthy body and blood can flow better. Establishment of qi is considered only can occur when the moving method is especially sitting in a stationary position. From this idea was born Jinggong method derived from the word jing (silent, quiet) are more focused on concentration and peace of mind without involving movement in practice.
For those who have seen a lot of Japanese animation movies or kung fu may already be familiar with the shape of the methods Jinggong.
In this method the practitioner sits cross-legged position with both hands together and eyes closed. Practitioners are trying to focus on breathing and eliminating various passing thoughts.

The interesting thing about this method is the flexibility provided by the method jinggong against
a practitioner's body position when doing method.
In this book it is said that the best position to do this exercise is to sit cross-legged with double cross leg position or cross each other.
Unlike regular sitting cross-legged when only one foot is above the thigh, in the double-cross leg position both feet are on the thigh of the opposite leg.
Double cross leg position (en.minghui.org)
Although double-cross leg position is considered as the best position to perform Jinggong method, but this is not the default position.
In this book explained if we assume this position too hard we might try to sit cross-legged position which is considered easier or sit on a chair. Even if the physical conditions do not allow us to sit cross-legged or sitting for long periods of time, we can do it in a sleeping position. Because Jinggong mentioned that a practitioner who has been highly trained to perform the method Jinggong in running condition though.
The practice of this method can be said Jinggong very simple
Although in this book covered some pretty detailed, outline this method focuses on how we focus on our breath and pull and release a variety of thoughts in our brain. Although simple it turned out to be very difficult to do.
Based on what I've been trying to do during this month there is always a thought flashed in my head, be it just a little or big enough to dominate the brain.
Whether it's the memories of the past or plans for the future. It seems very difficult to focus on the breath that I breathe and breathe in the present.
It seems like right when they said that very few people who live in the present. Most people live in the memories of their past be it a beautiful memory, disappointment, or regret.
While some live in dreams and fears of the future. Very few are able to live in the present and move on within each breath.
Although only a month to do it but Jinggong method has pretty much taught me how to live in the moment.
Not that we do not need to think about the future or forgetting to learn from the past.
It's just that sometimes the proportion of the second period too much thus releasing someone from her life in the present.
That is why in the method Jinggong body position is not too important.
Because after the position of the body and in the circumstances we are in, as long as our mind is in the right position we will not lose qi or energy within us.
